Artist's Comments

PLEASE DON'T FAV WITHOUT COMMENTING. I'D LIKE TO KNOW WHY YOU LIKE IT ENOUGH TO FAV IT. THANK YOU.

by the way, that doesn't mean your comment has to say "you asked why so this is why". just comment with what you like about it! that's what i do when i like a piece enough to fav it :)

something i did a few months ago, but have been hesitant to submit.

it has quite a bit of personal meaning. which i won't go into, because some things are better left unsaid.

take it as you will.

had to scan this in pieces and put it together in photoshop. i hate doing that but whatever. at least i have a high res copy of this now. don't know if prints will be available. maybe.

used: old paper, pencil, gouache, adhesive spray to get that transparent paper on, and acid free tape to attach the paper on the back.

La soufrance de ses amis,
n'est pas plus amusante,
que la vue d'un jardin
dont la flore est mourante.

I'm on a really bad computer, so I know the colors must be much better than how they look now. But, even with this bad comuter, I love what I see, and it's a fav. for sure.

p.s. this really reminds me of Kurt Halsey's work. :] He's my ultimate favorite.

So pensive, with a hint of melancholy... you know, I really think these sort of pictures show your highest concentration of emotion. I actually feel quite a bit sad by looking at it, and that's exactly what art is supposed to do(mostly), create an emotion in the mind of the viewer.

I'm so fond of the thick outlines!
